For the EMDR Professional

Finding an EMDR Consultant

Looking for an EMDRIA Approved Consultant to further expand your knowledge, confidence, and quality of EMDR services?

Consultation is an essential part of mastering the art of EMDR and providing quality care.  It involves keeping therapists up to date on the latest research, provides education on prominent EMDR protocols, and assists in mastering the EMDR 8-phase, 3-pronged approach.

EMDR Consultation, in an individual and group format, can be used toward your Certification hours or can be provided just for your continued focus on quality treatment and a regular outlet for your complex cases.

We have wonderful and seasoned therapists in Georgia that have acquired the status of EMDRIA approved EMDR consultants.

August 28th 10-11:15 am EST
FREE! zoom presentation “Burnout to Resilience: Supporting Trauma Therapists Through Sustainable Clinical Practice” by Deb Del Vecchio-Scully, LPC, BCN, DCMHS, EMDRIA Approved Consultant.

Trauma therapists dedicate themselves to supporting individuals through some of life’s most difficult experiences. While deeply meaningful, this work can also lead to emotional exhaustion, compassion fatigue, secondary traumatic stress, and professional burnout when clinicians are continuously exposed to high levels of emotional intensity without adequate restoration and support.

This presentation will offer practical, evidence-informed strategies to strengthen resilience, enhance self-regulation, and sustain long-term effectiveness in clinical practice. Participants will explore the neurobiological impact of trauma exposure on helping professionals, recognize early warning signs of burnout, participate in reflective exercises, and develop personalized approaches to maintaining emotional wellness. Objectives include:

  • Identify signs and symptoms of burnout, vicarious trauma, and compassion fatigue
  • Strengthen nervous system regulation and emotional resilience
  • Establish healthy professional boundaries, manage work-life balance, and sustainable clinical practices
  • Foster professional connection, support, and long-term career sustainability

Will be recorded! (No CEUs to reduce Network from accruing more fees.) To register, https://www.eventbrite.com/e/burnout-to-resilience-supporting-trauma-therapists-tickets-1991320304636?aff=oddtdtcreator

September 11th 9-12:15pm EST
Zoom 3 hour Presentation “The Machinery of Control: Narcissistic Abuse, Trauma, and the Healing Relationship”
by 2 rockstar presenters and survivors Beth Matenaer, LPC and Tammie Willis, MA.

This three-hour webinar reframes narcissistic abuse as a traumatizing system — a cult of one. Through a brain-based, adaptation-focused lens, clinicians will learn to recognize the same coercive machinery operating at every scale, from the intimate partner to the family to the high-demand group.

The therapeutic framework presented in this course centers on empowering survivors to embody themselves and become their own experts. Rather than positioning the clinician as the authority on the survivor’s experience, this approach restores autonomy, self-trust, and the capacity for self-knowing — the very capacities the traumatizing system was built to dismantle. Participants will leave with a clear lens for screening, conceptualizing, and walking alongside narcissistic abuse survivors as the resilient adaptors they are. Learning Objectives:

  • Define narcissistic abuse as a traumatizing system and articulate at least three structural parallels between a narcissistic relationship and a cultic system.
  • Describe the brain-based impact of sealed and traumatizing systems on survival physiology, attachment, cognitive dissonance, and moral injury.
  • Identify clinical presentations of narcissistic abuse survivors across cognitive, somatic, relational, and identity domains, and screen for them when the client does not self-identify as a survivor.
  • Apply a collaborative, client-as-expert therapeutic approach that supports autonomy restoration rather than recreating directive or hierarchical dynamics.

3 Georgia LPC and SW CEUs applied for. To make this essential information accessible to all, this webinar is only $35!! Webinar will be recorded but only CEUs offered for live attendees.

The fabulous Jamie Marich, Ph.D., LPCC-S, REAT joins us again! Many EMDR therapists wonder what case conceptualization really means despite constantly hearing it in our trainings. And the phrase treatment plan can bring up even more dread, especially if you’ve worked in settings where treatment plans felt like just more paperwork to weigh you down. In this workshop, EMDR Therapy trainer, author, and consultant Dr. Jamie Marich breaks down both concepts in a way that can feel more relevant and user-friendly to EMDR therapists. Improve your understanding of case conceptualization by weaving together the principles of Phase 1 and Phase 8 while learning to redefine your usage of a treatment plan to guide EMDR Therapy with more complex cases. Practical exercises for enhancing your understanding of the material are incorporated throughout the workshop. Objectives:

  1. To conceptualize a client case in the EMDR approach to psychotherapy in a responsive way that allows for attending to the specialized needs of the client and facilitates more informed treatment plan reviews
  2. To develop a practical, measurable EMDR Therapy treatment plan that can serve as an anchor for your case conceptualization
  3. To practice the Re-Evaluation phase (Phase 8) of EMDR Therapy with greater ease and understanding, based in the treatment plan anchor

February 5th 2027 11 am-1:15pm Zoom “Ethical EMDR Preparation: Recognizing when Clients Need More Support before Trauma Processing” presentation 11:00am-1:15pm by Lauren Kiser, PhD, LPC, EMDRIA Approved Trainer and Consultant.

This 2 hour ethics course covers critical clinical and ethical decision making for EMDR trauma work- including recognizing when clients need more stabilization, pacing, and internal skills. This continuing education course will be offered only LIVE (no re-plays).

Clinicians often work with clients who want to engage in trauma processing but lack the emotional regulation or stability needed to do so safely. Participants will learn how to identify indicators that additional stabilization or support may be required before EMDR trauma processing and how to distinguish between standard preparation and situations that exceed the scope of weekly outpatient therapy. Ethical decision making will be emphasized, including informed consent, nonmaleficence, scope of competence, and appropriate referrals. This training supports ethical pacing decisions that protect client safety and improve trauma treatment outcomes.

Lauren Kiser, PhD, LPC is an Adult Complex Trauma & Dissociation Specialist, Certified EMDR Therapist, and EMDRIA Approved Trainer & Consultant. She holds a doctorate focused on addictive disorders and therapist competency in treating eating disorders. Known for her advanced trauma expertise, Lauren frequently provides training and consultation to other therapists. Lauren practices at LK Institute in Arizona.
